NORMAN — Oklahoma topped Gonzaga 82-78 Thursday night at Lloyd Noble Center, earning a trip to the championship game of the Preseason WNIT, where the Sooners will meet No. 5 Louisville at 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon, also at Lloyd Noble Center.
Unfortunately, the court presence that impacted the game more than any Sooner or Bulldog was the collective one of the three-person officiating crew of Kyle Bacon, Doug Knight and Tiffany Bird, the last of which led the trio in inexplicable calls.
Multiple times, Sooner coach Sherri Coale or Gonzaga coach Kelly Graves believed they had received a call in their favor, only to find out it had been against their team instead. Other times, it was simply unclear what had just transpired following a whistle.
