Norman North quarterback Kolar commits to Oklahoma State

The Norman Transcript

NORMAN — John Kolar became the second Norman North quarterback in the last year to commit to a major college when he announced his commitment to Oklahoma State earlier in the week.

Earlier this year Oklahoma State offered Kolar, who stepped in at quarterback after Alabama signee David Cornwell went out with a knee injury. In just more than half the season, Kolar passed for more than 1,500 yards while completing 65 percent of his passes and throwing 15 touchdowns to just two interceptions.

He had unofficially visited OSU several times in the past few months, and worked out at their junior camp. Coaches have been impressed with his athleticism with both his arm and his feet.

Kolar had drawn interest from several other major schools, but decided to end the search early and commit this week. At Oklahoma State, Kolar will enter a system that currently has two quarterbacks on scholarship but none for the 2015 class.
