NORMAN — A 37-year-old man who was shot while in his vehicle Tuesday evening at an apartment complex in west Norman survived his injuries, according to Norman police reports.

The victim was hit at least two times in the upper torso and arm area and transported by EMSStat to OU Medical Center. Norman Police received a call to 911 at 7:31 p.m. from the Cedar Lake Apartment complex in the 4100 block of West Main Street where a reporting party heard two gunshots and a “car and a truck leaving really fast,” according to investigation reports.

About seven minutes later, a call came in from Raising Cane's at 3617 W. Main Street where the gunshot victim reportedly went inside the restaurant  to seek help and a customer called 911.

The Norman Police Criminal Investigations Division and Crime Scene Unit responded to both scenes and are currently investigating.

One person was detained  on Tuesday and released. That person is no longer considered a suspect.

Norman Police do not believe this was a random event and continue to investigate further. There are currently no suspects in custody and no suspects identified. Norman Detectives have interviewed several witnesses.
