Norman police engaged in a police pursuit Tuesday, which ended in Oklahoma City, after observing a vehicle matching the description of a stolen vehicle earlier that morning.
Police received a call of a stolen vehicle at 5:41 a.m. in the 800 block of East Brooks Street. The reporting party advised that he started his vehicle and left it running while he went back inside so that it could warm up. Upon his return, he determined the vehicle to be stolen.
A vehicle matching the description of the stolen vehicle was observed entering I-35 northbound at Lindsey Street. Norman police attempted a traffic stop at I-35 and Indian Hills Road, but the vehicle failed to yield and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit continued northbound on I-35 into Oklahoma City.
Norman requested the assistance of Oklahoma City Police Department as it continued within their jurisdiction.
The pursuit ended in the area of SW 59th Street and Walker Avenue where the suspect, later identified as Glen Gregory, 20, ran from the vehicle on foot. Gregory was taken into custody by officers without further incident a short distance away.
Gregory was placed in the F. DeWayne Beggs Detention Center on complaints of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, eluding a police officer, driving under suspension and a valid Oklahoma County felony warrant.
