DURHAM, N.C. —
No losing team had ever scored 100 points in the NCAA tournament only to lose the game … until the Sooner women pulled it off Saturday afternoon at Cameron Indoor Stadium, where DePaul prevailed 104-100 in a first-round contest
That's a record the Sooners would have rather not set.
Oklahoma trailed by as many as 19 points only to take the lead in the second half. Ultimately, however, the Sooners could not keep it.
"I would imagine, for the fans who were in the arena ... that was a very entertaining basketball game," Sooner coach Sherri Coale said. "Lots of points scored, lots of big plays, very talented offensive players. ... We could have hung our heads and gone to the corner, and we didn't. We fought back."
