NORMAN — Norman is experiencing an extensive blackout. Around 9 a.m. on Thursday morning around 3,033 OG&E customers lost power.
OG&E spokes person James Chappell said the outage could last up to two hours.
He said it involved most of downtown Norman and as far north as Robinson Street. He was unsure what caused the outage.
Employees and customers of downtown businesses used the warm weather to congregate on the sidewalks.
The outage included city hall and the Cleveland County Courthouse. The outage includes Campus Corner but not the University of Oklahoma. The OG&E website reported close to 4,000 customers out, one city employee said.
