NORMAN — Norman North graduate Christopher Jack “CJ” Stephens, 19, left Feb. 20 to serve a two-year mission in St. George, Utah, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He will work primarily with Spanish-speaking people.
CJ is an Eagle Scout and was employed full-time from the time he graduated from high school in May 2012 until he left on his mission.
His sister, Serena Marie Stephens, also a graduate of Norman North, left April 24 to serve an 18-month mission in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She is currently in the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah, learning Portuguese.
Prior to leaving on her mission, Serena was majoring in business management at BYU-Idaho in Rexburg. She plans to resume her studies following her mission.
Children of Brian and Danielle Stephens, Serena and CJ are the eldest of eight children.
