St. Stephen’s United

Methodist Church

Sunday, the Rev. Amy Venable’s sermon will be “Only Love Matches the Claims of God,” from Mark 12:28-34. Holy Communion will be served at both services.

South Canadian Valley Church of Christ

Sunday, Craig Hayes will conclude a series on the “Seven Last Statements of Christ from the Cross.” His topic will be “Hope — Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.”

Trinity Baptist Church

Sunday, Senior Pastor Ronnie W. Rogers speaks on “Day of Decision” in the morning worship.

Trinity Lutheran Church (LC-MS)

For All Saints Sunday and Celebration Stewardship Day, the guest preacher will be the Rev. Marvin Henschel who was the pastor at Trinity from 1964-1972. Bells will be tolled for all the congregation members who passed away this past year. Pledges will be gathered for the church’s work in 2013. The celebration banquet will be at noon with a lasagna lunch, music and videos.

United Church of Norman — UCC

John Brunna, counselor, educator and spiritual teacher will deliver Sunday’s sermon. Brunna was a Buddhist monk for six years before returning to become the director of the Way of Compassion Foundation. He is in the city conducting a workshop on “Emotional Mindfulness.”

University Christian Church

Sunday, Dr. James Taylor will speak on the series “Joshua: From Defeat to Victory” titled “Caleb’s Special Inheritance,” from Joshua 14:6-15. Sunday is Blood Pressure Sunday where anyone can receive free screenings. Sunday evening, the congregation will have a worship/prayer service concerning Election Tuesday.

University Lutheran Church and Student Center (ELCA)

Former Missionary to Tanzania, Pastor Herb Hafermann, will preside at services on All Saints Sunday.

Victory Church of Norman

Senior Pastor Fred Sellers plans to preach a brief sermon and then oversee the Celebration of the Lord’s Supper at the afternoon service on Sunday.

West Wind Unitarian Universalist Congregation

Sunday, Kurt Bachmann will present “Finding Peace and Spirituality on the Camino de Santiago, reflections on life learned while traveling in Spain.”
