The Buddha taught that it is through the practice of meditation that we not only cut the clinging, grasping nature of our mind, but we also develop insight or awareness into the true nature of reality. The true nature of reality is recognizing not only its impermanent state, but also understanding that all phenomena lacks any kind of inherent existence — known as emptiness.
The Buddha also taught that all phenomena are inextricably linked.
