NORMAN — Taco sale today

The monthly taco sale at Norman First American United Methodist Church, 1950 Beaumont Drive, will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.

Cost for a taco and drink is $7. Dine in or carry out orders are available.

Church celebrates Scout Sunday

Members of any scouting group are invited to wear their uniforms for the 11 p.m. Sunday service at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 1601 W. Imhoff Road.

Scouts will be honored and will participate in the service, in the procession, as readers, ushers and more.

Congregations to meet in Lawton

Congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the south west region of Oklahoma such as Purcell, Chickasha, Norman and others, will gather for a program on Saturday and Sunday at the MacArthur Jr. High School in Lawton. The theme of the program will be taken from Matthew 22:37 and titled “Safeguard Your Mind.”

The two day program will consist of Bible discourses centered on the theme. There will be demonstrations and interviews. A representative of the headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Michael Nelson, will deliver two discourses “Keep Close In Mind Jehovah’s Day” and “Let The Peace of God Guard Your Mental Powers.”

The program day begins at 9:50 a.m. and will end promptly at 3:55 p.m. on Saturday and 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. Each day features a noon break.

Admission is free and no collections will be taken.

Students start worship night

The Students of University Lutheran (SOUL) have begun an 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night worship following a dinner and Bible study.

Noble church to host taco dinner

Noble United Methodist Church, 204 Main St. Noble, will hold its bi-monthly Indian taco dinner from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Cost is $6 and includes a beverage.

To go orders are available and delivery of five orders or more will be made in Noble and south Norman for those who call 872-3913.
