NORMAN — Alameda Church of Christ

Sunday, Youth and Family Minister Lee Langdon will speak about youth and family ministry.

Concord Missionary Baptist Church

“The Song Of The Sheep: A Convicted Song” is the theme of the morning message. The focus will be on Psalm 23:4. Pastor Clark will study the manner in which Christ leads His sheep through the worst of times. The evening service will feature a sermon by Colton Clark.

CrossPointe Church

Sunday will conclude the series on “Priority.”

Echo Church

Week three of “Love Handles” will continue the discussion on getting a handle of God’s view of sex.

Faith Pointe Baptist Church

Sunday, Pastor Gann will preach “It’s Not About You,” from Luke 9:23-24.

First Baptist Church

Dr. Wade Smith will bring the sermon “Forged!?” during the classic and LifeSong services. Jane Roby will continue the study in Habakkuk during pastor’s Bible study Sunday evening in Hallock Hall.

First Christian Church

Sunday’s sermon is titled “When you Don’t Like the Sermon” based on Luke 4:14- 30 with the Rev. David Spain preaching at both morning services.

First Presbyterian Church

On Mission Sunday, Dr. Bob Rice will have “A Conversation with the Director of Second Wind Ministries, Josh Hammell” at both morning services. The university students will assist in worship.

Holy Ascension Orthodox Church

Sunday is the 31st Sunday after Pentecost, in Tone 1 Eothinon 1. The Epistle reading for Divine Liturgy is St. Paul’s Letter to the Hebrews 7:26-8:2. The Gospel reading is from St. Luke 18:35-43

McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church

This week will continue the sermon series “Punching Holes in the Darkness: A Series on Hurts, Hang-Ups and Healing.” The Rev. Linda Harker (sanctuary services) and the Rev. Randy Wade (Lifeline service in Fenn Hall) will preach a sermon titled “Baggage,” from Ephesians 4:25-5:2.

Memorial Presbyterian Church

Sunday, the Rev. Tracy Evans’ message will be “The Parts and the Whole” based on 1 Corinthians 12:12-31a.

NorthHaven Church

Sunday, while Pastor Mitch is away on a mission trip to Ghana, Dr. Randy Ridenour will bring the message “Waging Peace,” from Isaiah 2:1-4. The choir will sing “Jesus Is All the World to Me,” by Lloyd Larson.

St. Stephen’s United

Methodist Church

Sunday, the Rev. Amy Venable’s sermon will be, “We’re All Different, Which Is OK And God’s Plan,” and is based on 1 Corinthians 12:12-31.

South Canadian Valley Church of Christ

Sunday, Craig Hayes will discuss “Navigating by the Word of God,” from the books of Second Peter and Jude.

Trinity Baptist Church

On Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, Senior Pastor Ronnie W. Rogers will speak on “The Death of Man as Man: Man May Choose to Live or Man May Choose to Die.” Sunday evening, he will speak on “Your Child is a Gift With Rewards” followed by a time of dedication for some of the children in the church.

Trinity Lutheran Church (LC-MS)

For the third Sunday after the Epiphany, the sermon by Pastor David Nehrenz will be titled “The Gracious Words that Came from Jesus’ Lips,” based on Luke 4:16-30.

United Church of Norman — UCC

A scripture reading from Luke 4:14-21 will inform the message given by the Rev. Warren Jensen. The Message is titled “Does Jesus’ Role in Life have to be Our Role?”

University Christian Church

Sunday, Dr. James Taylor will continue the series “Lessons From Solomon” titled “A Lesson About Wisdom,” from 1 Kings 3:3-15.

University Lutheran Church and Student Center (ELCA)

In Pastor Joe Summerville’s sermon based on Luke 4:14-21, Jesus announces good news to those struggling on the fringes of society and hope for the imprisoned. Communion will be celebrated at both morning services.

Victory Church of Norman

Senior Pastor Fred Sellers plans to preach a sermon titled “Beware the False Prophets,” from 2 Timothy 3:1-5 at the afternoon service on Sunday.

West Wind Unitarian Universalist Congregation

Sunday, Andy Jacobs will present “Mindful Art,” raw nature is in a constant state of change and art made of natural materials shows individuals that change is the key to understanding.

Wildwood Community Church

Sunday, executive pastor Mark Robinson will speak on “M+, Part 2,” from Revelation 20:1-15.
