NORMAN — The next Norman Ministerial Fellowship’s Lenten service will be at noon on Wednesday at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 3939 W. Tecumseh Road. Guest Pastor will be the Rev. Mike Bumgarner, chaplain, Norman Regional Health System, who will deliver the sermon “My God, My God, Why Have You Forsaken Me?”
The Lenten services reflect the ecumenical spirit of Norman with 10 different churches participating, along with clergy related to the University of Oklahoma and Norman Regional Health Systems. Host churches will offer an expression of worship in their tradition and a brief homily will follow by a guest pastor. Services will conclude by 12:35 p.m. with a fellowship lunch provided afterward for the cost of $5. An offering will be taken at each service to benefit Among Friends. The services will continue through March 27.
The Fellowship has selected “Together to the Cross” as the theme for the Lenten services.
