NORMAN — Norman North graduate Miles Jensen left on Jan. 23 to serve a two-year mission in the New York City North Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He will work primarily with individuals who speak Spanish.

Before going to New York, Miles will spend eight weeks in the Missionary Training Center (MTC) in Provo, Utah, learning Spanish.

Miles graduated from Norman North in 2012 where he was active in student council and lettered in baseball. In the community he was a member of the Rotary Interact Club and was president for two years. He was a TEEN volunteer and assistant coach of Whittier Middle School’s seventh grade basketball team. He also is a graduate from the LDS Seminary religious education program and is an Eagle Scout.

“I’ve been looking forward to serving a mission my whole life, and I feel blessed to be able to teach people about Jesus Christ,” Miles said.
