NORMAN — Alameda Church of Christ

Sunday, Senior Minister Rusty Tugman will continue the “Dear Church…” sermon series with the lesson “Letter to Sardis.” The sermon text comes from Revelation 3:1-6.

BridgeView United Methodist Church

Sunday will continue the journey with Jesus, to become new again.

Concord Missionary Baptist Church

“Walking Through The Wilderness Of Life” is the theme for the morning service. Pastor Clark will preach the sermon from Deuteronomy 2:7. The evening message will be delivered by John Jones.

CrossPointe Church

Sunday will continue the series titled, “Stuck.”

First Baptist Church

Sunday will continue the sermon series “Question Marks” with the sermon “Surely Not I?” Dr. Wade Smith will bring the sermon during the LifeSong service and the Rev. Jim Stewart will bring the sermon during the classic service. Pastor’s Bible Study will meet Sunday evening in Hallock Hall led by Smith focusing on “The Most Misused Scripture.”

First Christian Church

Sunday’s sermon is titled “Restoring” based on Luke 15:1-3 and 11-32 with the Rev. David Spain preaching at both morning services. The Lenten Ventures Series will meet for its final session Sunday with a Fellowship Meal at 5 p.m. Workshops are from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

First Presbyterian Church

On the Fourth Sunday in Lent, the Presbyterian women will lead both morning services as the congregation will “Celebrate the Gifts of Women.” One feature is the presentation of the “Choreopoem, Colors of the Human Family.” The Rev. Pam Normile will preach a sermon titled “Unrevealed Until Its Season” based on John 16:20-22. The Lenten study will continue at 7 p.m. in the parlor.

Holy Ascension Orthodox Church

Sunday is Meatfare Sunday, the Sunday of the Last Judgment, in Tone 7 Eothinon 7. The gospel reading for Orthros is from St. John 20:1-10. The Epistle reading for Divine Liturgy is St. Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians 8:8-13 & 9:1-2. The gospel reading for Divine Liturgy is from St. Matthew 25:31-46

McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church

Sunday will continue the Lenten sermon series, “Crossroads.” The Rev. Linda Harker (sanctuary services) and the Rev. Randy Wade (Lifeline in Fenn Hall) will preach a sermon titled “A Side Road” with scripture from Luke 22:54-62.

Memorial Presbyterian Church

On Sunday, the Rev. Tracy Evans’ message will be “What It Means to be Prodigal” based on Luke 15:1-3, 11b-32.

NorthHaven Church

Dr. Mitch Randall will continue the sermon series “Good Medicine” with the sermon “Healing the Mind,” from Mark 5:1-20. The choir will sing “Order My Steps,” by Glenn Burleigh. At 6 p.m., there will be an Airo service. This is a service which includes acoustical music and time for reflection. After the service there will be pizza and conversation. Childcare will be available.

St. Stephen’s United

Methodist Church

Sunday, the Rev. Amy Venable’s sermon will be “In This Case, We Are the One Percent,” and is based on Luke 15:1-3, 16-32.

South Canadian Valley Church of Christ

Sunday, Craig Hayes’ sermon will be the second part of a four-part series on “Judging.” His topic is “Judging That Is Condemned.”

Trinity Baptist Church

Senior Pastor Ronnie W. Rogers will speak on “The Gospel.” Sunday evening, he will speak from Hebrews on “The Perfect Sacrifice.”

Trinity Lutheran Church (LC-MS)

For the fourth Sunday in Lent, the sermon, based on the story of the prodigal son, will be titled, “The Forgiving Father,” based on Luke 15:1-32. The fifth Wednesday Lenten soup and salad supper is at 6:30 p.m. and the Vesper service at 7:30 p.m. with the sermon titled, “I’ll Think Upon Thy Mercy.”

United Church of Norman — UCC

The Rev. Warren Jensen continues his sermon series on “Simplicity” with the sermon “How Jesus Might Solve the Economy Problems.” The scripture reading will come from 2 Corinthians 8:13-15.

University Lutheran Church and Student Center (ELCA)

Pastor Summerville’s sermon will provide a look at the familiar story of the Prodigal Son by celebrating the “Prodigal God,” who blesses all people with abundant and excessive grace. The church hosts Build Your Own Breakfast between the 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. services. A simple soup meal at 6 p.m. precedes Wednesday’s Lenten worship at 7 p.m.

Victory Church of Norman

Sunday, Senior Pastor Fred Sellers plans to preach a sermon titled “What Keeps Our Salvation Secure,” from Romans 5:10.

West Wind Unitarian Universalist Congregation

Sunday, the Rev. Jim Eller will present “Silence.”

Wildwood Community Church

Sunday will include a Baptism and Communion Service. Executive Pastor Mark Robinson will speak on “Sacred Symbols.”
