NORMAN — McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church, 419 S. University Blvd., will host its 34th annual Advent Festival from 3-6:30 p.m. on Sunday. The theme of this year’s festival is “What Can I Give Him?”

McFarlin’s Advent Festival has been a continuing tradition since 1978. The event will include a program from 3-3:30 p.m. in Fenn Hall; crafts from 3:30-6 p.m. throughout the building; music in the atrium from 3:30-6 p.m.; and dinner in Fenn Hall from 5-6:30 p.m.

New this year is an angel display in Room 222. Church members will bring angels of all kinds — ceramic, glass, pillows, cross-stitch, cards, books, pictures, etc.

Refreshments can be found throughout the building during the afternoon. There also will be a McFarlin Market in the Fenn Hall foyer where various items are available for purchase.

The program in Fenn Hall features a slide presentation by Kathy Mash and Beverly and Joe Sanders on “Five Legends of Christmas.” Ian Gill and Abe Wallace will sing “The Little Drummer Boy,” and the Children’s Choir will sing “The Friendly Beasts.”

Crafts appropriate for various ages can be made to decorate for Christmas.

Live piano seasonal favorites will be performed in the atrium by Mary Sallee from 3:30-4 p.m. From 4-6 p.m., live Christmas jazz will be provided in the atrium featuring Jerry Neil Smith (clarinet), Floyd Haynes (saxophone), John Cole (bass), Randy Coyne (drums), and Sallee (piano).

The dinner will feature pulled pork, pinto beans, salad, rolls, and pies. Bread, peanut butter and jelly also will be available. Cost for the meal is $3 for ages 10 and under, $5 for ages 11 and older, and $15 maximum per family.
