NORMAN — Contemporary Christian artist Matthew West will perform a free concert benefiting the Moore community at 7 p.m. June 28 at Emmaus Baptist Church.
West will perform alongside the band’s guitarist for a night of storytelling and worship created specifically for the families affected by the Moore tornado.
The rest of the band will continue the scheduled tour as West visits Oklahoma for an acoustic performance. West will interact with the crowd and offer devotional thoughts as he speaks about recovery.
West has performed at Emmaus Baptist Church, 16001 S Western Ave., on two other occasions as part of his tour.
The benefit concert is open to the public. An outdoor projector will stream the concert for anyone who wishes to watch the performance once the church reaches maximum occupancy. Tickets are available at iTickets.com and can be printed for admission at no charge.
A Nashville native, West uses his gift of music to inspire ministry through devotional ballads. His newest album, titled “Into the Light,” features 12 songs.
