NORMAN — Kari Mashos, a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship, will give a free public lecture, “The riddle of evil: How Christian Science answers the question,” at 2 p.m. June 29, in the new edifice of Fifth Church of Christ, Scientist, 10305 N. May Ave. Free child care provided.
“In this lecture, I am going to explore the nature of evil, what it is and what it isn’t and the nature of God, good – powerful and healing,” said Mashos. “I’ve found that asking the right question brings healing and freedom from evil and its effects. From my experience I’ve found that the right question is, ‘Where does good come from?’”
The ideas shared in Mashos’ lecture are based on the teachings of Jesus as recorded in the Bible and as explained in “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures” by Mary Baker Eddy.
Mashos was an opera singer for several years and also founded her own opera company to highlight social issues before devoting herself full time to the practice and teaching of Christian Science healing.
Mashos has appeared live on radio programs in the U.S., UK and Australia, and was interviewed for the Oklahoma public television documentary, “Chords of Memory.” She also is a frequent contributor to Christian Science publications.
