NORMAN — Alameda Church of Christ

Sunday, Senior Minister Rusty Tugman will continue the “Dear Church…” sermon series with the lesson “Letter to Philadelphia.” The sermon text comes from Revelation 3:7-13.

Concord Missionary Baptist Church

The morning sermon will explore the teachings of Solomon in regard to “The Teaching Of Correction,” from Proverbs 13:18. The evening service will feature a message from Ephesians 6;19-20, “Praying For The Witness Of The Gospel.”

CrossPointe Church

Sunday will continue the sermon series “Stuck.”

First Baptist Church

Sunday, Dr. Wade Smith will continue the sermon series “Question Marks” with the sermon “Are You Sleeping?” during the spring break combined worship service in the sanctuary.

First Christian Church

Sunday’s sermon is titled “Recognizing” based on John 12:1-8 with the Rev. David Spain preaching at both services.

First Presbyterian Church

On the Fifth Sunday in Lent, the Rev. Dr. Bob Rice will continue his sermon series on “The Ten Commandments” with a sermon titled, “Protecting Life” based on Exodus 20:13 and Matthew 5:21-26 both morning services.

Grace Presbyterian Church

The Rev. Todd Dole will preach from John 11:53-12:9, “Love or Hatred?” Sunday evening, Dole will preach from 1 Peter 5:5-7, “Humble Before God.”

Holy Ascension Orthodox Church

This Sunday is Forgiveness Sunday, also known as Cheesefare Sunday, in Tone 8 Eothinon 8. The Gospel reading for Orthros is from St. John 20:11-18. The Epistle reading for Divine Liturgy is St. Paul’s to the Romans 13:11-14 & 14:1-4. The Gospel reading for Divine Liturgy is from St. Matthew 6:14-21.

McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church

Sunday will continue the Lenten sermon series “Crossroads.” The Rev. Linda Harker (sanctuary services) and the Rev. Randy Wade (Lifeline service in Fenn Hall) will preach a sermon titled “A Road to Ruin” with scripture from Mark 15:1-15. 

Memorial Presbyterian Church

On Sunday, the Rev. Tracy Evans’ message will be “Anointing” based on John 12:1-8.

NorthHaven Church

Dr. R. Mitch Randall will continue the sermon series “Good Medicine” with the sermon “When the Sick Cry Out,” from Mark 10:46-52. The children will have time with Pastor Randall as they discover together what is inside the mystery bag. Allison, Cassie, Stephanie and Carol Bates will bring the music with “Blessings,” by Laura Story. There will be a baby dedication during the service.

St. Stephen’s United

Methodist Church

Sunday, the Rev. Amy Venable’s sermon will be “St. Patrick As An Outsider” and is based on Philippians 3:4-14.

South Canadian Valley Church of Christ

Sunday, Glen Taylor’s sermon will be the third part of a four-part series on “Judging” with a sermon titled, “Judging Yourself.”

University Christian Church

Pastor Dr. James Taylor will continue the series “Lessons From Solomon” titled “A Lesson About Parenting,” from Proverbs 22:1-6.

University Lutheran Church and Student Center (ELCA)

Guest minister Bishop Michael K. Girlinghouse will speak from the text in John 12:1-8 at both morning services encouraging believers to live lives that proclaim the extravagance of God’s love given to all through Jesus Christ. Breakfast will be served between services. Wednesday Lenten services continue at 7 p.m. preceded by a simple soup supper at 6 p.m.

Victory Church of Norman

Senior Pastor Fred Sellers plans to preach a sermon titled “We Grow in Grace ‘Little By Little,’” from Exodus 23:30 at the afternoon service this Sunday.

West Wind Unitarian Universalist Congregation

Kirk Mackey will present “In Celebration of the Spring Equinox.”

Westwood Baptist Church

Sunday, Pastor Scott Liner will complete the series on Psalm 23.
