NORMAN — For 10 years of her life, Livia Satterfield lived in a Romanian orphanage.
In sharp contrast to the lack of love and care from the orphanage attendants and fellow orphans, she remembers the change — through a simple shoebox gift — that came into her life at 12 years old.
Satterfield will speak in Norman at 10 a.m. Sept. 21 at First Baptist Church, 211 W. Comanche St. She will give a second talk at 4 p.m. at Edmond First Christian Church, 201 E. Second St.
Since 1993, more than 100 million boys and girls in more than 130 countries have experienced God’s love through the power of simple shoebox gifts from Operation Christmas Child.
Samaritan’s Purse works with local churches and ministry partners to deliver the gifts.
