May 20 EF-5 tornado first responders to be honored

NORMAN — Oklahoma’s own Prayer Force One tour bus will rendezvous with The National Day of Prayer tour bus to honor first responders from the May 20 tornado. The tour stop will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the site of the Plaza Towers Elementary School.

Area pastor Ed Moore is founder of Prayer Force One and is also a father of Moore fireman Corley Moore, who was among those who arrived at the Plaza Towers Elementary School within minutes of the tornado.

“In the moments that followed the disaster, millions of prayers were going up on behalf of people of Moore, as well as for those who first responded to the disaster. Now we would like to invite the praying public to honor these brave men and women in person,” Moore said.

The National Day of Prayer bus tour is part of a 100-day tour that includes stops in more than 300 cities and towns across America in an effort to raise awareness of the annual National Day of Prayer.

Oklahoma stops will begin at the Bombing Memorial in downtown Oklahoma City from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday followed by the Moore rendezvous with Prayer Force One at 3 p.m. The bus will then appear Sunday morning at the First Baptist Church of Moore before moving on to Tulsa.

For more information, call Pastor Moore at 386-3226.
