NORMAN — On Jan. 27 to 28 at First Baptist Church of Moore, the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma (BGCO) will host its annual State Evangelism Conference.

The two-day conference, which is free to attend, offers preaching, music and breakout sessions for people who want to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with their community, says Tim Gentry, evangelism director for the BGCO.

“We have a great challenge before us, to take the Gospel to the entire state, so that everyone has the opportunity to respond to Jesus,” Gentry said. “This event is for pastors and lay people alike, those who love Jesus and believe that Oklahoma is their place to serve God.”

Speakers at the event include the following Oklahoma pastors: Charlie Blount, pastor at First Baptist Church of El Reno; Alton Fannin, pastor at First Baptist Church (FBC) of Ardmore; Nick Garland, pastor of FBC of Broken Arrow; Blake Gideon, pastor at FBC Edmond; Alex Himaya, pastor at BattleCreek Church of Broken Arrow; KJ Jackson, pastor at New Beginnings Church in Tulsa, Scott Reed, pastor at FBC of Cache; Rick Sowell, pastor at Choctaw Road Baptist Church in Choctaw; and Jack Vance, pastor at FBC of Dewar.

Breakout session topics include “How to jumpstart your church,” “Transforming your Vacation Bible School into a community event” and “Creating evangelism opportunities for students.”
