NORMAN — Members of all faith communities and denominations are invited to St. Thomas More University Parish, 100 E. Stinson St., once a month for Sung Vespers.

Vespers is a liturgy of evening prayers during which the Christian faithful look back on the day and give thanks. The liturgy includes hymns and psalms that vary according to the feast or season of the year. The next Sung Vespers at St. Thomas More will be at 7 p.m. Thursday. Parking will be available in the lot adjacent to the church as well as the lots north and east of St. Thomas More.

Each month, a different choir and organist will provide the music. In February, The Choir of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Parish, under the direction of Clinton D. Davis, will sing.

This is the third year that St. Thomas More has provided Sung Vespers, which was initiated by Nolan Reilly, organist and director of music at St. Thomas More.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to shine a light on the vast amount of musical talent in our Diocese and to experience liturgy and music in a way that is unfamiliar to many,” said Reilly.

Sung Vespers in March will be at 7 p.m. March 13 and will include an evening of prayer and music with the Cathedral Choir of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, under the direction of Michael Scott.

For more information or directions, call St. Thomas More University Parish at 321-0990 or visit stm-ou.org.
