NORMAN — JourneyChurch.tv announced this week details of its plan to sell its southeast Norman Campus, 1330 E. Lindsey St., to Antioch Community Church of Norman.

Journey Church’s Elder and Senior Leadership Teams considered the modification to their multi-site structure over several weeks before making the decision to move forward with a real estate transaction. The plan to sell the campus, which was purchased in 2012, shifts the campuses’ 300 members to attend worship experiences at Journey’s Norman Campus, 3801 Journey Parkway.

“Our desire in selling the southeast Norman campus is to better utilize our income and extend our influence in a great way within Norman, and in other communities.” said Clark Mitchell, founding senior pastor of JourneyChurch.tv and founder/CEO of Loveworks Leadership Inc. “This change will allow us to centralize and decentralize Loveworks Leadership Inc. at the same time. It furthers the mission of Journey Church, it furthers the mission of LWL, and it helps another church in our city live into its potential. That’s what it's all about.”

While Journey Church announced that it plans to give Antioch Norman occupancy on Feb. 1, Loveworks Leadership will continue to meet there during the week on a short-term basis.

“We believe in God’s timing for this site,” said Chris Bennett, lead pastor of Antioch Norman. “And we are blessed to be working with Journey in a manner that honors God, furthers his kingdom, and allows our churches new opportunities to reach our city.”

Jan. 27 will be the final Sunday for JournyChurch.tv to have worship experiences at the LWC, and worship at the Norman Campus will continue as scheduled each Sunday at 8:40 a.m., 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Antioch Norman will begin having their services at their new campus at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Feb. 3.

Journey Church is confident that Antioch Norman will be very successful in their new location.

“We are given the unique opportunity to further God’s grace in southeast Norman by selling this location to Antioch Norman,” said Rennie Cook, executive senior pastor at JourneyChurch.tv. “Antioch has been prayerfully considering a permanent location in Norman and this is a good fit for them, and it is God’s vision for us to move from here and multiply his presence in new places.”

Additionally, JourneyChurch.tv is launching a location in Southwest Oklahoma City, 10601 S. Western. Weekly worship experiences will begin at this location in mid-February. For more information, email swokc@journeychurch.tv.

JourneyChurch.tv was founded in 2001.
