NORMAN — Alameda Church of Christ

Sunday, Senior Minister Rusty Tugman will begin the “Dear Church…” sermon series with the lesson “Letter to Ephesus.” The sermon text comes from Revelation 2:1-7.

BridgeView United Methodist Church

In worship this week, the congregation will look at the Gospel reading from Luke, Chapter 5:1-11.

Concord Missionary Baptist Church

Pastor Clark will conclude the study in the morning worship from Psalm 23:6, “A Celebration Song.” The evening service will be highlighted by a sermon from John Jones.

CrossPointe Church

Dr. Bob Rice will continue a sermon series on “The Ten Commandments.” Sunday’s sermon is titled “The Lord Alone” and based on Exodus 20:1-6; 32:1-6 at both morning services.  

Holy Ascension Orthodox Church

Sunday is the 33rd Sunday after Pentecost, in Tone 3 Eothinon 3. The Epistle reading for Divine Liturgy is St. Paul’s Second Letter to Timothy 2:1-10. The Gospel reading is from St. Matthew 25:14-30.

Memorial Presbyterian Church

Sunday, the Rev. Tracy Evans’ message will be “Still Climbing” based on Luke 9:28-36.

Morning Star Center for

Spiritual Living

Ben Fenwick’s talk is titled, “Communion in the Wasteland: A War Correspondent’s Perspective of Afghanistan.” Fenwick is Rose State College’s news coordinator. He reported from Afghanistan and Iraq while embedded with the Oklahoma National Guard.

NorthHaven Church

Sunday, Dr. Mitch Randall will bring the message “The Eternal House,” from 2 Corinthians 5:1-5. Communion will be observed. Music will be brought by SoloFlight Band who are here for the Youth Connection Weekend. They will sing “Beautiful Things” and “I Need Thee.”

Sunday, the Rev. Amy Venable’s sermon will be “We Don’t Always Have to Take Control of Everything,” from Luke 9:28-36.

South Canadian Valley Church of Christ

Sunday, the guest speaker for both assemblies will be Jay Loyd of Fort Smith, Ark.

The sermon by Pastor David Nehrenz for the Festival of the Transfiguration of Our Lord is titled, “This is My Son, My Chosen One, Listen to Him” based on Luke 9:28-36.

The Rev. Dr. Barbara Boyd will be the guest preacher. Her sermon is titled “The Four Loves of Jesus” and will be enlightened by two passages of scripture: Luke 6: 27-36, and Luke 10: 25 - 28.

Sunday, Dr. James Taylor will continue the series “Lessons From Solomon” titled “A Lesson About Witnessing,” from 1 Kings 10:1-13.

University Lutheran Church and Student Center (ELCA)

Pastor Sommerville’s “Transfiguration Sunday” sermon comes from Luke 9:27-43.

Senior Pastor Fred Sellers plans to preach a sermon titled “Four Monster Truths from One Bible Chapter,” from 2 Corinthians 5 at the afternoon service on Sunday.
