The Norman Transcript

Jefferson

Tuesday, Jefferson students will participate in the Diabetes Walk at the Norman North High School track. Jefferson students chose the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation as their annual philanthropic fundraiser. Parents should make sure that their child has returned his or her permission slip for the trip to Norman North.

Thursday is Senior Day. Jefferson Dragons who are graduating high school seniors are invited to return to celebrate together and "ring the bell," a long-standing Jefferson tradition. Parents are welcome also.

Friday, is Super Kids' Day. Students in kindergarten through fifth grade will participate.

Upcoming events:

Monday: Performance by Monroe percussion group "Manyawi" at 1 p.m. and talent show permission notes due

Tuesday:?Ike eats out at Boomerang, volunteer lunch, Mrs. Thrower's group to drama and debate workshop

Wednesday: Timed tests, Ike eats out at Raising Cane and Longfellow choir at 1 p.m.

Thursday: Camp Read-a-Lot

Friday:?May Cougar Pride

Second-graders have been taking end of year instruction tests in everyday math.

Third grade is beginning its end of year unit on chocolate. All the festivities of kickball, Accelerated Reader Bash, Super Kids Day are winding down the year and will be made all the sweeter with a study of chocolate.

Thursday, students will celebrate reading with many fun literacy activities.?This all-day event is a tradition at Ike. To volunteer to help or for more information, call the school.
