The Norman Transcript

Jefferson

Monday is Junior Achievement Day. Students in all classes will participate in activities designed to teach them about enterprise and commerce.

Fifth grade recognition will be 7 p.m. Tuesday. Jefferson faculty and staff would like to congratulate all graduating fifth-graders.

Wednesday, Mrs. Stair will hold a school-wide Blink competition for fourth and fifth grade students. Also that day, students in fifth grade will have another visit with representatives from Longfellow Middle School.

Thursday, Jefferson will have its last awards assembly of the year to celebrate students who are on the honor roll or have outstanding attendance. Visitors are welcome.

The last day of school will be Friday. That day, Jefferson will have its annual talent show. Fifth-graders will provide the finale with the traditional pillow dance.

Norman High School

Norman High School competitive acting and debate squad won the OSSAA championship at the University of Oklahoma April 10-12. This makes the sixth state championship Norman High actors have won in recent years.

Here are the winners.

Andew Connery, state champion in domestic extemp; Jon Riley and Stephen Babcock, second place, CX debate; Andew Keeler and Jonathan Phillps, second place, dramatic duet acting; Clare Springer and Micah Smith, third place, humorous duet acting; Micah Smith and Abby Barwick-Snell, fourt place, dramatic duet acting; Clare Springer and Ariana Azimi, fifth place, dramatic duet acting; Kyle Mellon, third place, domestic extemp and quarterfinalist in LD debate; Ariana Azimi, third place, original oratory; Andrew Connery and Kristiana Baez, quarterfinals in CX debate; Sean Wynn, quarterfinalists in LD debate; Andrew Keeler, fourth place, humorous interp; Micah Smith, fifth place, humorous interp; Abby Barwick-Snell, sixth place, monologue; Chris Hamburger, sixth place, poetry; Kaylan Aksel, sixth place, standard oratory.

Lincoln

Lincoln's Drama Club gave its last presentation of the school year after the assembly Friday. The annual Jog-a-thon was May 9. The Lincoln Lion's Choir performed at the morning assembly Tuesday.

Fifth grade recognition will be 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the gym. Geneva Hill and Michael Riggs were selected to be Lincoln's Masonic Students. Plans are being made for the end of the year.?Beach Day will be Thursday and?the talent show will?be 8 a.m. Friday.
