Realtors hold run to rasie money

NORMAN — The Norman Board of REALTORS raised more than $4,500 on Saturday, March 24 at its first 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Run Race sponsored by DG Productions.

More than 175 runners and walkers came out to support this inaugural event. All of the proceeds raised through NBR’s fundraising efforts go toward the LuDown Legacy Fund to help with: Back to school bags filled with school supplies, Christmas gifts and gift cards to help families through the holidays, and scholarships to graduating high school seniors that have overcome adversity.

“The 1st Annual LuDown Legacy 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run was a huge success,” said Katie Giebler, Committee Chairman of LuDown Legacy. “Not only did we have a fantastic turnout, we raised more than $4,500 for the fund. We have been getting a large amount of positive feedback. Everything ran so smooth thanks to all of our generous sponsors and volunteers. This is definitely an event that will grow.”

During the post activities, medals and prizes were distributed to the top contenders. Overall winners, Scott Downard of Norman, and Jenny Graef of Stillwater received a weekend “Entertainment” package with overnight stay at Embassy Suites, Dinner at participating HSRG Restaurants and two tickets to Warren Theater. Medals were given to the top three finishers in each five year age group.

DG Productions of Oklahoma City provided assistance with race management and timing of the participants. To review race results or photos, a link is available on the NBR website at
