· Trivia Bowl
The Sports Talk 1400 Super Trivia Bowl will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at Sooner Legend Inn & Suites. Registration is set for 5:30 p.m. with a BBQ dinner at 6 p.m.
Cost is $180 for a team of six or $30 per person. Fee includes dinner and door prize tickets. Spectator cost is $20 per person, which also includes dinner and ticket for a door prize.
All money raised go directly to help funding the upcoming Heartland Baseball Classic June 18-23.

· Junior Jammer league on tap
The Norman Parks and Recreation Department its hosting the 2012 Winter Junior Jammer Basketball League for boys and girls ages 5-13 years old. New this season to Junior Jammer Basketball are team registrations and registrations with a buddy. Team registrations will play in a team only league and individual registrations will play in a separate recreation league.
Forms can be downloaded at www.juniorjammer.com and may be turned in at any City of Norman Recreation Center or the Parks and Recreation office at City Hall. Registrations may also be returned by mail to Parks and Recreation P.O. Box 37, Norman, 73070 ATTN: Junior Jammer Basketball.

· Signing day
FOX Sports Southwest will televise a National Signing Day special at 6 p.m. Wednesday that will focus entirely on the recruiting classes of Big 12 and Conference USA schools from around the region.
SOUTHWEST SIGNING DAY will be shown on FOX Sports Southwest, FOX Sports Houston and FOX Sports Oklahoma. Ric Renner will host the 30-minute program. He’ll be joined by Scout.com’s national recruiting analyst Greg Powers and local recruiting expert Randy Rodgers.
They’ll review and grade the recruiting classes of schools in the Southwest region, including Baylor, Houston, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Rice, SMU, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, TCU, Tulsa and UTEP.
They’ll also examine how the school’s fared in Scout.com’s national rankings. A list of the region’s Big 12 and C-USA recruiting classes with analysis from Scout.com correspondents will be posted on foxsportssouthwest.com and foxsportshouston.com.
· Season tickets on sale
Oklahoma’s women’s gymnastics single-meet tickets are went on sale Jan. 17. Tickets will be available for purchase through the OU Athletics Ticket Office at (405) 325-2424 or toll-free at (800) 456-GoOU.
Prices for single-meet tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for youth and senior citizens. Group rate information can be found in the information bar. Season tickets are also available through the OU Athletics Ticket Office and are just $20 for public general admission and $15 for faculty/youth.
OU will hold the fifth-annual “Beauty and the Beast” event on Jan. 27, as No. 10 Oklahoma women’s gymnastics takes on N.C. State at the Lloyd Noble Center at 7 p.m. The women’s gymnastics team will share the floor with OU’s wrestling team as they face Virginia Tech.
OU also announced its 2012 women’s gymnastics promotional schedule which can be found below. Along with Beauty and the Beast, the Sooners will host “A Red Carpet Affair,” Mardi Gras Masquerade,” and Senior Night at the Lloyd Noble Center.
The Sooners’ home meets feature three NCAA Super Six finalists from 2011, including last season’s national champion Alabama.
