OKLAHOMA CITY —
Blanketed by a rotating string of Irish defenders throughout the night, Clark managed just three points, though he also led the team with five rebounds. Sayvon Foley led NHS with seven points, while the Irish got 13 points from Stuart Krous, and a near double-double from Lienhard, who had 10 points and nine rebounds.
“They’ve got a big, and they’ve got guys who can hit shots,” Thornton said. “We played extremely well in the first half, but we knew we couldn’t keep them from scoring whenever. And when we weren’t able to get the ball to fall and score just three points in the third quarter, that’s the game right there.”
The Tigers still have a chance at a trophy, and will meet Yukon, which lost to Norman North in the other semifinal, at 6 p.m. today at Bishop McGuinness.
