DEL CITY — The Community Christian girls won their inaugural soccer game 3-2 Tuesday over Del City. The boys dropped the nightcap 3-2.
In the girls’ game, Laney McDonald assisted Kari Ohsfeldt’s opening goal and provided the next two, including the game-winner in the 71st minute. Ohsfeldt’s first goal came 8:30 into the match, before Del City overtook the game with two unanswered.
McDonald scored the next unassisted before being helped on the final score by Rebecca Par. CCS outshot Del City 20-14, while keeper Chandler Sweeten paced the defense with 12 saves.
The Royals played just 11 players, working the entire game without substitutions for the win.
In the boys’ game, Chris Abernathy and Steven Bradley scored goals for the Royals. Keeper Blake Carter had 14 saves.
