NORMAN —

Next up for NHS is a 7:45 p.m. game Friday at Moore.

Westmoore 43, Norman High girls 40: A narrow loss to Westmoore ended a disappointing weekend for NHS at the Westmoore Tournament.

NHS coach Nichole Copeland said that, while the Tigers had their chances, they weren’t able to convert enough of them to pull ahead near the end.

Bethany Cox led NHS with 11 points and Albany Anderson has seven while being named to the All-Tournament team.

Next up for NHS is a 6:15 p.m. road game on Friday at Moore.

Anadarko 62, Southmoore 50: Facing the No. 1 team in 4A, the third ranked Lady SaberCats fought hard for three quarters, but were unable to keep pace in the final period of Saturday’s Anadarko Warriors Classic title game.

With 6:15 left in the game and the SaberCats trailing by only three, the Beatty sisters took over for the Warriors. Ashley Beatty, drained a 3-pointer to push the lead to six. On their next trip down senior Lakota Beatty, who has signed to play at Oklahoma State, knocked down her own trey to give Anadarko a 47-38 advantage.

The two sisters led the Warriors on a 19-9 run to put the game away.

Serithia Hawkins paced the Cats with 14 points and seven rebounds and senior Kayla Tucker scored 12 points and four assists in the loss.

Southmoore drops to 9-3 on the season.
