Kinsey leads T-Wolves to smashing win over SaberCats

NORMAN — Norman North jumped back into district play on Monday with a decisive victory over Southmoore, defeating the SaberCats 8-2 behind an explosive day at the plate and a pitching gem from Brad Kinsey.

Kinsey went six innings, allowing just one hit before giving way to Austin Cranford to close the game out.

At the plate, the top of the lineup was a force for the T-Wolves. Leadoff batter Luke Jones went 2 for 2 with 2 runs scored, while two-hole Daniel Herron also scored a pair of runs.

“We played one of our best games of the year,” coach Brian Aylor said. “We played really well in all phases of the game, and Brad did an exceptional job on the mound.”

The win moved North to 6-1 in district play and 11-4 overall and marked Aylor’s 200th win as North’s head coach.

The T-Wolves and SaberCats are scheduled to play again at 7 p.m. today if weather permits.
