Aylor gets benchmark win with T-Wolves

Injured players return to lineup: Norman North now has back on the field several players who have missed time with injuries.

DJ Gasso and Joe Nostrand both returned to action on Monday after missing time, and neither showed any lingering effects of injury. Coach Brian Aylor said he expects his lineup to continue to improve as the T-Wolves return to full strength, something that was evident as Gasso and the top of the lineup keyed a big North win.

“It’s good to have them back in the lineup,” Aylor said after Monday’s win. “Offensively, we had some really good at-bats.”

Freshmen earning playing time: Norman North freshman Leo Gallegos started his varsity career off about as well as he could have hoped last week, filling in and gathering several hits and RBIs.

But Gallegos hasn’t stopped there. Even with most of their team returning, he’s found a way to stick around in the lineup, something coach Aylor said won’t change if the freshman continues his strong play. He added another RBI in Monday’s win over Southmoore.

“At this point he’s proven he belongs in the lineup,” Aylor said. “He’s swinging the bat as well as anyone as a freshman. He brings some life to the lineup and the upperclassmen have taken him under their wing.”
