Tigers getting familiar with new roles

(Continued)

NORMAN —

Norman High was near the cutoff a year ago, but was No. 15 in the new figures, with an average attendance of 1,762.72. Norman North was 11th at 2,060.03.

Broken Arrow, Tulsa Union and Jenks were again the top three schools, with attendance numbers of 4,680.25, 4,347.06 and 3,123.61, respectively. Putnam City was the cutoff school, with an average attendance of 1,733.66 in 16th, narrowly edging out Lawton, which had 1,733.

The numbers are preliminary, and won’t be finalized until an OSSAA board meeting on Aug. 14th.

Anderson commits to OCU: Norman High senior Albany Anderson has committed to Oklahoma City University to play basketball next season.

Anderson, whose defensive energy and rebounding were a major part of the Tigers’ success a year ago, is the program’s only freshman recruit this season. Her cousin, Chelsea Ledbetter, was a two-time All-American for the Stars between 2005 and 2009.
