NORMAN — Norman High sent its seniors out in style on Monday, topping Putnam City West 11-1 in a six-inning contest.

Still saddled with numerous injuries that forced the Tigers to bring up several underclassmen from the junior varsity, NHS had more than enough to power them past the Patriots on Monday.

Blake Ruggs led the Tigers with a home run while Hunter Houck went the distance on the mound to pick up the win.

“The kids have battled hard through all the injuries, but it hasn’t been easy,” coach Pete Sangirardi said. “Never in all my years, and I’ve had a lot of them, have I seen this many injuries. But we did a good job today sending the seniors out.”

Westmoore 10, Norman North 0: North fell to Westmoore on Monday, struggling at the plate and failing to bring any runs across.

The T-Wolves, who are in position to host a regional, will wrap up the two-game series with the Jaguars at 7 p.m. tonight at home.
