T-Wolves sweep Jags

NORMAN — A day after coming up short despite a strong effort against Midwest City, the Timberwolves put together both a good game and a win against Westmoore Saturday.

The T-Wolves started hot. Trae Young had another big game for North, hitting three 3-pointers in the first quarter as North got off to a 42-19 start against the Jags, who beat Moore Friday.

“ (Westmoore) beat Moore, which beat us on Tuesday, but we showed up and played like we did in the first half against Midwest City,” coach Bryan Merritt said. “We shared the ball.”

Payton Prince added 19 points for North.

Norman North girls 49, Westmoore 36: A day after losing to Midwest City at the buzzer, the Timberwolves bounced back with a convincing victory.

Tia Williams played one of her best games of the season off the bench and led the Timberwolves with 17 points, while Bri Kuestersteffen added 13. The T-Wolves held Westmoore to 10 first-half points.

“Tia was outstanding for us tonight; she played really well,” coach Jeff Blough said. “It was a good bounceback game for us and good to get a win.”
