NORMAN — David Cornwell still doesn't know if he will be able to play football next season.
The Norman North senior met with the OSSAA on Tuesday to present his case for a hardship waiver, and the case remained undecided for the second straight meeting that it was on the docket.
The OSSAA tabled the appeal early in the meeting after the Cornwells provided additional documentation to support their claim that the semester David missed was due to “circumstances beyond his control.” Cornwell is claiming his mother fell ill in 2011 and he stayed away from school during that time.
OSSAA officials appointed a staff investigator and outside council to review the documents and question the family to gather more information.
The case will be decided at a special board meeting on June 12, when Cornwell, who will graduate in December and has drawn interest from major colleges including Alabama and Oklahoma State, will learn his fate.
