Peterson decision will wait

Stoops had a good view of the play on the field and defensive ends coach Chris Wilson, who was in the press box, also encouraged him to seek a review.
That’s why he burned a timeout to make sure the officials had enough time to review the play.
“I’m not faulting anyone, but for some reason, they didn’t buzz,” Stoops said. “I kept looking at the guy on my sideline and he was looking at me like, ‘No buzz.’ Finally, I said, ‘This is too important and I don’t need that timeout that much.’”
Stoops talked to Tim Millis, the Big 12’s coordinator of football officials, about why the replay officials didn’t call for a review.
“I felt like that should have been buzzed before I called timeout, right away. … It’s a change of possession play, a scoring play right there at the 1-yard line. We need to really look at this,” Stoops said. “(Millis) felt like it should have been buzzed before I called timeout.”
Stoops said he thinks the Big 12 replay system is doing what it’s supposed to do even if it isn’t fully understood by all the coaches.
“One of my coaches said, ‘No, Bob, you get that timeout back.’ I said, ‘That’s the NFL, boys. Not here. That one’s gone,’” Stoops said. “But it was plenty worth it.”
