NORMAN — No. 13 Oklahoma strung together consecutive wins for just the second time this season with a 9-1, five-inning victory over Boise State on Thursday before going into the late game against Oregon State.
Competing at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Palm Springs, the Sooners got a complete game from sophomore Kelsey Stevens, who struck out eight in the victory. They also got home runs from Erin Miller and Whitney Ellis, part of a four-RBI performance from her.
Oklahoma jumped on top early, taking a 4-1 lead in the first inning. After Boise State got on the board in the top of the fifth, the Sooners responded with five runs to end the game prematurely.
The Sooners (7-4) play a doubleheader today, with a 5:30 p.m. game against Northwestern before taking on No. 13 UCLA.
