FULLERTON, Calif. — A day after unexpectedly starting the season 0-2, second-ranked Oklahoma bounced back with a pair of run-rule victories at the Easton Tournament on Saturday.
The Sooners (2-2) defeated Santa Clara 10-1 in five innings in the first game of the day before disposing of Loyola Marymount 11-1 in five innings in the second game.
Shelby Pendley continued her early-season barrage, blasting her second homer of the weekend in the first game and going 2 for 3 with two RBIs in the second contest. Georgia Casey also had a big day, going a perfect 3 for 3 with four RBIs and a home run against Santa Clara. Sophomore transfer pitcher Kelsey Stevens recorded her first win of the season against Loyola Marymount, throwing a complete game and allowing just one run.
OU wraps up tournament play with a 5 p.m. game today against Pittsburgh.
