NORMAN — After showing last weekend they could play small ball, the Sooners proved Friday that the offense hasn’t gone anywhere.
No. 16 Oklahoma rolled to a 10-0, five-inning victory over Iowa State in the conference opener on Friday.
Led by sophomore Kady Self, who went 3 for 3 and had a pair of home runs, scored three times and finished with five RBIs, OU jumped on top 4-0 after three innings and added on from there.
Junior Shelby Pendley, who has made waves both at the plate and in the circle, extended her hitting streak to 14 games by adding a three-run home run in the fifth inning to give the Sooners the runs to ensure the run-rule.
The Sooners will meet the Cyclones again at noon today for the second game in the series.
