NORMAN — On a night that Norman North coach Brian Aylor said starting pitcher Brad Kinsey didn’t have his best stuff, Kinsey still had more than enough to lead the Timberwolves to a win.
North defeated Edmond North 12-2 Monday night, getting a complete game from Kinsey as he struck out seven batters and gave up just one earned run. The victory moved North to 5-0 in district play.
“He really didn’t have his breaking ball today,” Aylor said. “He was fastball and change-up. To be able to give up only one run on a day you don’t have your best stuff shows how dominant he can be.”
North also got a big day at the plate from senior Joe Nostrand, who went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.
Nick Basquine also added three RBIs on a bases-loaded triple.
With the win, North moved to 8-4 and stayed undefeated in district play. The T-Wolves will meet Edmond North again tonight in the second game of the district series.
