NORMAN — Norman North baseball coach Brian Aylor and his Timberwolves are looking forward to the Aggie Classic, in which they’ll begin play Monday in Pensacola, Fla.

What he’s not very happy about is the lack of momentum North will carry into the tournament following Friday’s 4-2 home-field loss to Midwest City.

The T-Wolves received pitching good enough to win, but couldn’t make things happen at the plate while sporting a defense responsible for six errors and a pair of unearned runs against the Bombers.

“We had so many opportunities. We left so many runners on base,” Aylor said. “It was just one of those games.”

KC Gundy tossed four innings, allowed four hits and walked nobody. The four runs belonged to him, but only two were earned.

The T-Wolves relieving trifecta of Brad Kinsey, Joe Nostrand and Austin Cranford struck out five an didn’t allow a hit over three innings, but the T-Wolves couldn’t take advantage of the blanks their pitchers were throwing.

“We thought our pitchers did a good job today,” Aylor said.

Now 5-2 in the young season, North will try finding itself in Pensacola.
