Looking forward to the playoffs

NORMAN — The road to the title is shifting into high gear. Postseason assignments for several sports were released this week by the OSSAA, and a number of area teams now know the path they’ll take in the playoffs.

In softball, Norman High and Noble, along with Putnam City North, will travel to Moore next week, while Southmoore and Westmoore also will host a regional. Norman North will travel to Tecumseh, where the T-Wolves will also face Harrah and Jenks.

In golf, the Class 6A’s girls’ tournament is split into several sites, with NHS, North, Moore, Southmoore and Westmoore all competing at Kickingbird Golf Course in Edmond. On the boys’ side, NHS and Southmoore will travel to Bailey Ranch in Owasso to compete, while North, Moore and Westmoore will play at Lakeside Golf Course in Stillwater. Class 5A’s Noble girls will compete at Crimson Creek in El Reno, while the boys will travel to the McAlester Country Club to compete.

Tennis regionals were also announced. The girls’ regionals will be played on May 5, with North and Westmoore playing at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center. NHS and Southmoore will travel to Bixby to compete at the host school. Moore will play at Ponca City.

On the boys’ side, regionals will be played on May 12. North, Moore and Westmoore will play at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center, while NHS will travel to Bixby and Southmoore will play in Ponca City.
