Government’s cuts in mineral payments

NORMAN — The U.S. Department of Interior is cutting payments to 35 states as a result of the automatic federal spending cuts that took effect this month.

A list of the cuts, which total $110.86 million:

Wyoming: $53,082,211

New Mexico: $26,038,169

Utah: $8,780,195

Colorado: $8,417,896

California: $5,500,974

North Dakota: $3,222,598

Montana: $2,520,706

Nevada: $630,685

Alaska: $603,381

Louisiana: $347,677

Texas: $324,742

Oklahoma: $283,862

Idaho: $245,792

Alabama: $217,731

Missouri: $129,602

Mississippi: $110,102

South Dakota: $101,724

Arkansas: $98,739

Kansas: $70,871

Florida: $28,853

Oregon: $22,335

Kentucky: $20,547

Michigan: $16,763

Ohio: $11,798

Illinois: $10,717

West Virginia: $9,626
