TAHLEQUAH — Former state Rep. Bob Ed Culver of Tahlequah has died at the age of 79 following a lengthy illness.
Culver died on Wednesday. Services are scheduled Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Tahlequah.
A Democrat, Culver served House District 4 for 10 years, from 1991 until 2000. During his tenure, Culver chaired the House Committee on Corrections and served on the Higher Education, Human Services and Public Health committees.
Gov. Mary Fallin, who served with Culver while a member of the House, described Culver as “a good friend” and says he took his duties to the state seriously.
