OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma City’s tap water has come in first place in a national taste test competition.
Officials said Tuesday that the city’s water won the “Best of the Best” competition in judging at the 2013 American Water Works Association’s Annual Conference in Denver.
The organization says judges rated water from competing systems on flavor characteristics.
Utilities Director Marsha Slaughter said she’s proud of the win and says residents don’t realize how good Oklahoma City water is until they travel outside the area.
Oklahoma City’s water won a regional tasting contest in October to earn the berth in the North American event.
