NORMAN — Police are investigating a burglary at the northwest Norman home of Oklahoma football coach Bob Stoops.
Lt. Eric Lehenbauer said a vehicle and other items were stolen early Wednesday from Stoops’ home. He said several members of the Stoops family were home at the time of the burglary, but no one was injured.
Police did not release additional details, citing the ongoing investigation.
It wasn’t immediately clear if Stoops was home during the burglary. He and several Oklahoma players were in Wichita, Kan., on Wednesday night for an appearance at an OU Club of Wichita event.
Police do not yet have an update on whether a suspect has been caught, but Norman Police Sgt. Jennifer Newell said they may have something out today.
The University of Oklahoma issued a press release Thursday concerning the burglary.
“Coach Stoops and Carol appreciate the concern expressed for their family and appreciate the efforts of local authorities who are handling this matter,” according to the press release.
