MUSKOGEE — Prosecutors have dismissed a murder charge against an Okay woman for the death of her sister.
Sara Davis was charged with second-degree murder for the death of Kristi Rider in Okay. Authorities had said they believed Rider died after taking morphine that was given to her by Davis.
District Attorney Brian Kuester said he dropped the charge because the state medical examiner ruled that Rider’s death was due to natural causes — not a result of ingesting morphine.
Davis still faces drug-related charges.
