OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the pilot of an airplane that crashed while searching for a suspect remains in stable condition.
Capt. George Brown said Monday that Trooper Dennis Dickens is recovering from his injuries at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center. Dickens was airlifted to the hospital after he was pulled from the burning wreckage of the plane. The crash occurred about 7 p.m. Friday in Pottawatomie County.
The agency said the suspect involved in the search, 50-year-old Brent McKenzie of Shawnee, was captured and charged with DUI and other counts.
